Description

Ditch the plastic bottle with these awesome award-winning shampoo bars made in Yorkshire by Friendly soap. One of our first ever product lines, these are enduringly popular with old and new customers. With tea-tree for cleansing.

Directions for use: we recommend lathering in your hands, then applying lather to hair. Rinse and repeat!

Friendly soaps are all vegan, and free from nasties like sulphates, parabens, and plastic packaging. To make your soap bar last longer, allow it to drain well between uses, with a soap dish, stand, or even just a bottletop.

If you are new to shampoo bars, we have some tips. Commercial shampoo is basically a mix of chemicals designed to cheaply replicate the effects of real soap, which is more costly and time consuming to make. Unfortunately, they strip all of the scalp’s natural oils from your hair. These oils nourish and protect your hair and skin, so your scalp has to work twice as hard tring to maintain a healthy balance.

When you start using shampoo bars, they cleanse your hair rather than stripping it out. This can mean that there’s a slight transition period while your scalp adjusts to not having to over-produce, and it can leave hair slightly oily, dry, or waxy. To combat this, we recommend using a bicarb rinse of 1-2 teaspoons of sodium bicarbonate in 1/2 pint of warm water. Dampen your hair, then add your bicarb, then rinse, then wash with your bar as normal.
